Planning Permission - FAQ’s

As the building is classed as portable then generally planning permission is not required.

However, it is your responsibility to check with your local planning department. Probable exceptions to this are if the building is to be in a conservation area or that you need to position the building a certain distance from an established property.

As each area is different we cannot offer definitive information, we suggest that you contact your local planning department and speak to a planning officer to get the appropriate advice.

What are the buildings used for?

Project Specification

Project Specification:

Flooring- 5x2 timber with a fitted damp proof membrane. 100mm of insulation. 18mm tongue and grooved, moisture resistant chipboard flooring. Glued and screwed to prevent squeaking. 

External walls- 4x2 timber with 100mm of insulation. Covered with 9mm far eastern ply. Rendered with a waterproof, rubberised resitex coating. Colour of your choice. 

Internal walls- 3x2 timber with 12mm plasterboard. 

Roof- 5x2 timber with a 4 inch to nothing firring to take the water away. Covered with 15mm osb and an EPDM Firestone rubbaseal sheet. Finished with upvc fascia and guttering. 

Kitchens and bathrooms- can be chosen from a wide range. 

Windows and doors- double glazed upvc 

Internal joinery- oak veneer doors, frames and architrave.  White gloss skirting and coving. 

Decorations- magnolia emulsion walls and white emulsion ceiling as standard. Flooring can be chosen from carpet tiles, laminate and non-slip vinyl. 

36x24 foot cabin - Cost £20000 + VAT and delivery.
